About  Us  >  Our  Status
The Overseas Territories are constitutionally not part of the United Kingdom. They have separate constitutions and most have elected Governments with varying degrees of responsibility for domestic affairs.

Her Majesty the Queen is represented by a Governor who has responsibility for external affairs, internal security, defence, and in some cases the public service.
